Celebrate Recovery (CR) is a biblically-based, recovery program that addresses our Hurts, Hang-ups, and Habits using a 12-step approach based on the Beatitudes from the book of Matthew. CR leaders, understand your struggles, as they have experienced freedom from addictive and dysfunctional patterns in their own lives. They have been trained to guide people through the 12 Steps/8 Principles, and to provide a safe environment for accountability and building authentic relationships.

Impact N.O.W. Foundation recognizes the negative impact of different social factors in the lives of seniors who are retired and are alone in Isolation from usual activities, lack of contact with family members and other important people and difficulty accomplishing normal activities of daily life such as shopping, and attending appointments have all created higher levels of stress, and greater occurrences of depression and anxiety in this group.
All of these factors have a negative impact on their physical health, mental health, and their relationships. We would like to address this by continuing the weekly group for 15 seniors who attend this program and join in socialization and different activity. The ultimate goal is for socialization and age-appropriate activity to create a community of seniors that will benefit from this and develop relationships from the group that will last beyond the length of this project.
The group will be held once a week for 3 to 4 hours. A weekly schedule will be created that incorporates gentle exercises, games, crafts and lunch. Once a month a presentation will be held by a professional in different field. Praise and worship will also be incorporate beside dancing and singing. The other arm of this program is to create and train a group of young adult volunteers who will maintain regular contact with the seniors.
The program, called Wiser with Age is intended to develop relationships between young adult volunteers and the seniors. The volunteers will have regular phone and in-person contact to ensure that the senior has emotional and practical support.
